WHAT IS REQUIRED TO GET STARTED?
Using Stripe Reader M2 requires iOS SDK 2.1.0 (or later) or Android SDK 2.1.0 (or later). When using these SDK versions, Stripe Reader M2 will show up as an available reader during the ‘discoverReaders’ call.
Please reach out to our Support team or your Stripe Sales contact if you have any questions or need any resources to assist with your migration to Stripe Reader M2 (e.g. image assets, customizable deployment guide etc.).
WHERE WILL STRIPE READER M2 BE AVAILABLE?
Stripe Reader M2 is available for purchase and use in the US only.
WHAT IS THE PRICING?
Stripe Reader M2 is $59 USD and the optional dock is $19 USD.
The optional tablet mount will be available for $5 USD in the coming weeks.

Stripe Reader M2 is an easy-to-use mobile card reader designed for fast, reliable payments. It can be used with optional, Stripe-designed accessories for mounting to a tablet/phone for on-the-go use or placed on your countertop for all-day use. Stripe Reader M2 accepts EMV chip, contactless, and swipe payments. It’s battery-powered, and connects to your iOS or Android-based point of sale application via Bluetooth.
DOES STRIPE READER M2 INCLUDE E2EE AND P2PE?
All Stripe Reader M2 devices are secured with E2EE (End to End Encryption), and are P2PE (Point to Point Encryption) ready.
CAN I CONTINUE USING MY BBPOS CHIPPER 2X BT?
You may continue to use your existing BBPOS Chipper 2X BT readers to accept payments, and will be able to order new Chipper readers until Jan 31, 2022. Stripe will provide new feature updates for these devices until Jan 31, 2023 (excluding hardware specific features like P2PE), and continue to support them until at least Jan 31, 2024.
