I can’t login with my 2-factor authentication (2FA) code – why not?
If you have 2-factor authentication (2FA) active on your Stripe account, you can still access the app, please just follow these steps to complete the process.
USING GOOGLE AUTHENTICATOR
Open Charge for Stripe, set a pin code and then tap the 'Connect with Stripe' button and you will be taken to a login screen to enter your Stripe account details. Enter your credentials, but don't press submit yet.
Leave the app and open Google Authenticator. Wait for your Stripe code to update and long-press to copy the latest code.
Open Charge for Stripe, enter the PIN code you set in step 1, then press submit on the form you have already entered your login credentials into.
The 2FA code screen will then be displayed - long-press the first field and tap 'Paste' to paste the code into the field and then press submit.
If you have multiple accounts, select the account you would like to connect, otherwise just press the confirmation button to complete the connection and you will be returned to the Charge for Stripe Dashboard where your recent payments will now be displayed.
USING SMS AUTHENTICATION
Open Charge for Stripe, set a pin code and then tap the 'Connect with Stripe' button and you will be taken to a login screen to enter your Stripe account details. Enter your credentials and press submit.
You will receive an SMS with the 2FA code, however be sure you do NOT leave Charge for Stripe, otherwise the authentication screen will refresh and a new code will be generated. Instead, simply pull down the notification and select 'Copy' to copy the code from the SMS.
In Charge for Stripe on the 2FA screen, long-press the first field and tap 'Paste' to paste the code into the field and then press submit.
If you have multiple accounts, select the account you would like to connect, otherwise just press the confirmation button to complete the connection and you will be returned to the Charge for Stripe Dashboard where your recent payments will now be displayed.
If this sounds too tricky, an alternate method is to momentarily deactivate 2FA on your Stripe account, complete the authentication process in Charge for Stripe and then turn it back on once done.
